Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is a formalized means of organizing and storing an organization's documents, and other content, that relate to the organization's processes. The term encompasses strategies, methods, and tools used throughout the lifecycle of the content.

In the ECM package we have a Document Management System (DMS) to track and store electronic information, this can provide the following functionality:

  • Archive management
  • Document capture (scanning)
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) or digitizing and making documents searchable (multi-lingual)
  • Keyword extraction
  • Document presentation - exposing the documents in a secure manner via a portal
  • Indexing - optimization of searching algorithms for quick document retrieval
  • Document distribution and collaboration - the ability to distribute and collaborate on documents remotely via the network
